I'm really proud of my latest work for several reasons. First of all I was able to conceptualize an idea, pitch it, and then execute it. All in a matter of 4 weeks. Second, I was able to design the layout and lastly write most of the copy for this product catalog. Let me say that I'm not a product photographer and definitely stepped outside of my comfort zone to produce a 32 page electronic product catalog. Let me first start with how the idea came about after the jump.

I wanted to write this post last week when it was National Running Day but got busy and never got around to it. The timing would seem better this week for various reasons. I had a photo shot for a new website that is producing women's only events. They have a race coming up and just yesterday April, the site and event founder was on the local radio show to promote the next event and talk about triathlon training with one of the show hosts who is part of the CNN Fit Nation.

Because I'm a runner, I love shooting road races. It's tough sometimes, because I also want to run some of these races, so I have to choose. I can either run or I can be the photographer. This time, I'm the photographer.

I'm not an architectural photographer, but for this particular assignment I was asked to shoot some exterior & interior shots in addition to an editorial assignment. If you have a good working knowledge of exposure settings, then you can do this, but it's not easy. There is a lot of post production work involved. It's no wonder that really good architectural photographers charge a premium for this kind of work.
